Dragon's Dogma 2 Pawn Search Not Working

Among many other issues players have with the game, the pawn search in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is not working properly. Which means that, if you’re looking to recruit a specific pawn (like one made by your friend), you won’t be able to. Which is a huge bummer, because that’s kinda one of the main mechanics of the franchise. And it’s especially bad if you’re trying to find a pawn that would fill a very specific role. So, what’s going on? Let’s try and figure it out.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Search Not Working Issue

The issue of the pawn search not working in Dragon’s Dogma 2 (or, at least, not working as one would expect) is not on you. The developers have acknowledged that something is wrong on their end. As this tweet reads: “…The Advanced Pawn Search feature is currently experiencing some issues. Other pawn search features, such as searching within the Rift and offline searches, are working properly.” And they are, for the most part. On the brighter side, the tweet concludes saying: “We apologize for the inconvenience, and have a fix underway for the Advanced Search.” So, that’s a bit of good news; it’s not gonna be borked forever.

So, yeah, that’s the reason the pawn search is not working as it should in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Or, at least advanced search is not doing what it’s supposed to. For the most part, you’ll be able to find Pawns in Rifts using the other methods. Which are not enough in some situations, such as if you really, really need a Thief. They’re incredibly rare, it seems. But there is one more thing we have to mention that’s feature, not a bug: Pawns are not cross-platform. So, if you’re looking to hire a friend’s Pawn and they are on a different platform than you, that won’t happen even when the pawn search is running properly.
