Best Main Pawn for a Thief in Dragon's Dogma 2
If you like to play as a true glass cannon, then the Thief is by far the best Vocation for you in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Based on the Strider from Dragon’s Dogma 1, the Thief focuses on lightning-fast melee attacks and dodging its way out of danger. Because of that, you’re going to need a Main Pawn that can complement the Thief’s playstyle and make up for its weaknesses in combat. With that in mind, here’s what the best Main Pawn for a Thief Arisen is in Dragon’s Dogma 2, including both Pawn Vocation and Inclination.
What is Best Main Pawn for a Thief in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
This depends on a couple of factors. You may prefer to have your Main Pawn act as a sort of bodyguard to your Thief, rushing headlong into battle and distracting enemies so that your Arisen can pick them off one by one while they are busy trying to take down your Pawn. If that’s the case, then a Main Pawn with the Fighter Vocation and Straightforward Inclination could be exactly what you’re looking for.
On the other hand, if you want to do all of the dirty work yourselves, but still want a helping hand (or staff), then a Mage Vocation with the Kindhearted Inclination is the way to go. The reason for this is because this Main Pawn will prioritize healing and buffing your Thief Arisen. This way, you can focus on taking down your enemies, while you are bolstered by your Mage’s buffs and heals if you get into too much trouble. The offensive-oriented Mage Pawn doesn’t work as well in this combo, since its more powerful spells will often send enemies flying all over the place, and the Thief needs to get close to them for you to deal damage.
