Which Race to Choose in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

There are two races to choose from in DD2. These are the Humans, and the catlike Beastren. Apart from stark visual differences, there’s no other dissimilarities between these two. That is, you won’t get any bonuses or penalties if you choose a Beastren over a Human, and vice-versa. So simply choose the race that you think best fits the sort of Arisen that you want to role-play as.

Does Race Choice Matter in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Considering that this is one of the few things that you won’t be able to change about your Arisen – yes, this is a very important choice. But if you are wondering if this is going to affect anything major in the game, such as characters being hostile towards you if you choose Beastren, for example, then you have nothing to fear. There is one moment later on in the game (that we don’t want to spoil) which is made easier if you are a Beastren, but besides this (which can also be done by Humans as well), there are no major differences between the two and you won’t be locked off from any game content.

Can You Play as an Elf in DD2?

No, playing as an Elf isn’t an option, sadly. While it’s possible that Elves as a playable race are going to be added in some future DLC, for now – the closest you can come to playing one is making a human character with pointed ears during character creation.
