When it comes to large open-world games such as Dragon’s Dogma 2, it can take a lot of time to travel from one location to another. Naturally, this has been solved with the inclusion of fast travel options. Though, the way that this works in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a bit different than in most games of this type, where you can freely fast travel to and from discovered locations whenever you choose. So to explain the entire system, we’re going to show you how to fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
How to Unlock Fast Travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2
It’s important to note that you won’t have access to this right from the start of the game. No, in fact, you are going to need to play the game a while before the option opens up. Fast Travel in DD2 works via two systems. These are Oxcarts and Portcrystals. Oxcarts can be found in major cities in the game and for a small fee, you’ll be able to take them to another town. During this journey, you can either stay awake and admire the sights, or sleep and get there immediately. Of course, there’s always the chance that the oxcart is going to be ambushed by monsters. If that happens, you’ll need to aid in the defense of the oxcart. And then, there are the Portcrystals. These are teleportation spots that you can instantly travel to by using Ferrystones. The Ferrystones are consumable items that you can purchase from vendors or find during your adventuring.
There are two types of Portcrystals. The first kind are the Portcrystals in cities and towns. These are fixed spots, and you first need to find each one and interact with them once before you unlock them and are able to fast travel to them. The second type are portable Portcrystals. You can have up to a maximum of ten such Portcrystals placed wherever you want in the game world. If you want to move one such portable Portcrystal, you first have to go and pick it up and then place it somewhere else of your choosing. As you can see, this system will allow you to cover great distances quickly, and it won’t be long until you have unlocked Fast Travel as an option.
