Dragon’s Dogma 2 Featured at Capcom Highlights
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the highly-anticipated sequel to the hit action RPG. The original came out more than a decade ago in 2012, and since then, fans of the game have been asking for a sequel and wondering if the game’s story is ever going to be continued. And so news that the game is not just in development, but that it is coming out soon was met with a lot of excitement from fans all around the world. At a recent Capcom Higlights video presentation, the developers revealed several new details about the game. We are going to cover all of them here.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 Capcom Highlights Reveals
Just like in the first game, you play as an Arisen in Dragon’s Dogma 2. The Arisen is a special character that has been chosen to challenge – and, hopefully, defeat – the Dragon. To be able to do that, you will gain the services of Pawns. These are supporting characters that follow your commands, and you can have up to three of these in your party at any moment. This is done to simulate the feeling of travelling with a party of like-minded adventurers in similar RPGs. The game takes place in a fantastical open world, which you will be able to explore.
Of course, it should go without saying that this world is fraught with danger. There are many monsters that will pose a significant challenge to your Arisen and their Pawns. Some of these can fly, while others are colossal in size. There are over 1000 characters in DD2, all of which come with their own stories and motivations. Many of these are involved in quests that you can undertake. For many of these, combat isn’t the only way to solve them. Besides charging in, swords (or bows, spells, spears, etc.) swinging, you can also use diplomacy, stealth, and subterfuge to get what you want.
The game promises to be a lot bigger and more complex than Dragon’s Dogma 1, and we can’t wait to play it. There’s also the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Character Creation and Storage Tool, which you can use to create your Arisen and Pawns ahead of the game’s release and then import them into DD2 once it is out.
