Will Last Epoch Wipe on 1.0 Release?
With the full release of Last Epoch in sight, many long-time players are wondering – will Last Epoch wipe their character on the 1.0 release? In Early Access since 2018, Last Epoch has received many updates during this time, and it is finally set to release the full version with 1.0 this February 21st, 2024. As many players have been playing the game ever since it first came out in EA, they are wondering if this means that their character will no longer be usable. This is a very legitimate concern, as many games wipe all previous progress when they get to 1.0. Some of the reasons why that can happen is a complete overhaul of many of the game’s systems and code. In this article, we are going to take a look at all the information regarding this and provide an answer.
Will Last Epoch Have 0.9 Character Wipe on 1.0 Release?
No, Last Epoch won’t wipe your character once it updates from 0.9 to 1.0. However, this doesn’t mean that you will be able to continue playing online with that same character. Let us explain. While you will keep the old character, you will only be able to play them offline. Which means that, for all intents and purposes, you will need to start a new character once 1.0 drops if you want to be able to play it online. And, let’s face it, this is the real meat of the game, so of course you will.
Still, it’s nice that the devs have managed to work out a way for you to keep your old character. For most games of this type, the old characters will usually simply get unceremoniously wiped. So even though this is mostly for the sake of nostalgia, Last Epoch will not altogether wipe your 0.9 character from the game.
