MW3 Season 2 Assassin Vest Nerf - Can't Equip Lethal Glitch

Is the Assassin Vest nerfed in MW3 Season 2? Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 is now live on all platforms. Hours before the release, the game’s developer, Sledgehammer Games, released an official patch notes blog with all the changes coming to the game. However, there’s one change that’s confusing the player base. Namely, they can’t use lethal equipment when having the Assassin Vest equipped in MW3 Season 2. Is this a bug or a nerf? Read on as we explain what we know.

Is the Assassin Vest Nerfed in MW3 Season 2?

Those who were able to kick off the new season have quickly noticed one seemingly undocumented change. Namely, you currently can’t equip lethal with the Assassin Vest in Modern Warfare 3 Season 2. “Just started playing this game recently, so I’m not too familiar with everything. But I seem to remember being able to equip a grenade with the Assassin Vest,” says Reddit user itsTreyG. Other players started noticing the nerf as well. However, the issue here is that this change hasn’t been documented in the official patch notes. There’s absolutely nothing regarding this vest in the patch notes.

Hence, players are unsure if this is a bug that needs fixing or a stealth change for the popular vest. At the time of writing, we can not confirm if this is an intended nerf of the Assassin Vest in MW3 Season 2. If you ask us, it would be odd not to allow players to equip Lethal gear with something with the word “Assassin” in its name. However, Sledgehammer Games’ official MW3 Trello board still hasn’t been updated with this issue. If this is a bug, they will add it under “known issues”, but it is still not there. Unfortunately, it is also still not listed in the patch notes. Hence, for now, we will simply have to wait and see what will the developers say.
