reWASD Banned in Warzone, Respawn Confirms
Is reWASD banned in Call of Duty Warzone? The reWASD app was one of the most popular third-party tools in the Call of Duty community. Among other things, this handy tool allowed Warzone players to activate in-game aim assist on the PC even when they play with a mouse and keyboard combo. However, this was a muddy grey zone in terms of cheating. Read on as we explain why reWASD was banned in Warzone Ricochet anti-cheating.
Why is reWASD Banned in Call of Duty Warzone?
If you are planning on playing Call of Duty Warzone Season 1 Reloaded content this January, we strongly advise you first to delete reWASD. That’s because Ricochet anti-cheating developers have officially confirmed that this tool is banned, and it is no longer allowed. Hence, if you try to use it, Ricochet will register it as a cheating app on your device, and will take measures against your account. This can range anywhere from smaller penalties to banning your account. Hence, it’s strongly recommended to remove any traces of the app before starting Call of Duty next time.

Repeated use of these tools may lead to further account action.
The banning of reWASD comes as no surprise. The app allowed mouse and keyboard players on the PC to activate Call of Duty’s aim assist features, which were originally designed only to be used with a controller. It was a grey area at best, and it was only a matter of time before the studio took these measures. There is a reason why aim assist exists only for controllers. It’s because of controllers’ inherent disadvantage in competitive shooters. Hence, aim assist “aims” to level up the playing field in that regard. Thus, if you use aim assist with a mouse and keyboard, you disrupt that balance. According to reWASD’s developers, they are not planning on doing anything to bypass these measures.
Good to see there’s not balance disrupt from cronus, DS4 or any other scripting tools.
