Why is reWASD Banned in Call of Duty Warzone?

If you are planning on playing Call of Duty Warzone Season 1 Reloaded content this January, we strongly advise you first to delete reWASD. That’s because Ricochet anti-cheating developers have officially confirmed that this tool is banned, and it is no longer allowed. Hence, if you try to use it, Ricochet will register it as a cheating app on your device, and will take measures against your account. This can range anywhere from smaller penalties to banning your account. Hence, it’s strongly recommended to remove any traces of the app before starting Call of Duty next time.

The banning of reWASD comes as no surprise. The app allowed mouse and keyboard players on the PC to activate Call of Duty’s aim assist features, which were originally designed only to be used with a controller. It was a grey area at best, and it was only a matter of time before the studio took these measures. There is a reason why aim assist exists only for controllers. It’s because of controllers’ inherent disadvantage in competitive shooters. Hence, aim assist “aims” to level up the playing field in that regard. Thus, if you use aim assist with a mouse and keyboard, you disrupt that balance. According to reWASD’s developers, they are not planning on doing anything to bypass these measures.
