Warhammer Darktide Best Class After Patch 13

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the successor to Warhammer: Vermintide. It shares most of the mechanics with Vermintide, the biggest change being that it ditches Warhammer Fantasy for Warhammer 40k. The game has been out for a while now, with players praising some elements of it (such as the visuals and atmosphere), and generally criticizing other design choices (such as poor class balance). However, this has all changed with the October update. The classes have now seen a complete overhaul. This opens up the question of which class is the best in Warhammer Darktide after Patch 13? That’s what we’re here to answer.

Best Class in Warhammer Darktide Patch 13

There are currently four classes in WH40k Darktide. These are: the Ogryn Skullbreaker, the Psyker Psykinetic, the Veteran Sharpshooter, and the Zealot Preacher. All of these are meant to work together as a cohesive units in a team, so each one has its strenghts and weaknesses. Prior to Patch 13, the overall strongest class was undoubtedly the Sharpshooter. However, this has now changed and is no longer the case.

Let’s start with the class that has benefited the most from the class overhaul with Patch 13 – the Ogryn. While previously one of the weakest classes in the game, it has now been significantly buffed. The Ogryn has been transformed into a true tank, that can rush, taunt, take damage, and dish out damage in turn. Next, the Psyker. We’d say that, right now, it is the most powerful class in the game. Featuring team support, ranged spells, AoE, and single-entity (useful for bosses) killing capabilities, they are the most versatile and lethal class in Darktide.

The Zealot is a tough and fast class, but it suffers a bit due to primarily relying on melee. And guns are really the way to go in WH40k Darktide, at least in most situations. And finally, the Sharpshooter. This is the only class that feels like it lost some of its former power going into Patch 13. So while you can definitely still make a viable Sharpshooter build, this class is probably going to be worked on some more, as its skill tree leaves a lot to be desired. In the end, our rankings for the classes in Darktide after the October Patch 13 overhaul would have to be (going from strongest to weakest): Psyker, Ogryn, Zealot, and Sharpshooter.
