Namely, he’ll ask you to help him find a specific grave, which will prompt the “Holy Mission” tale (AC Mirage’s side quests). How to Start Holy Mission in AC Mirage
Baghdad’s Tales, like “Holy Mission”, are small side missions on Assassin’s Creed Mirage that aim to tell small everyday stories and major historical events. Ubisoft describes them as “short and compelling quests touching on iconic cultural topics of the era.” One of the things we really love in AC Mirage is an absolutely impressive attention to detail. Particularly when it comes to world-building and representing the rich, colourful past of Baghdad and its people. For example, did you know that in the first millennium of the anno Domini, there were several major Christian churches in modern-day Iraq?
One of the biggest was the Church of the East. Also known as the Nestorian Church. If you visit the northernmost part of the map, you’ll find a Nestorian monastery full of monks. There are several interesting things here, but for this guide, we will be talking about the “Holy Mission” tale. This side quest will trigger once you start talking with a rather conspicuous monk. He’s big, balding, and wears a mace on his back. He’ll have a conversation icon above his head, indicating that you can talk with him.
Where to Find Grave for a Monk in Assassin’s Creed Mirage
When you start talking with the monk, he’ll explain his trouble to you. By his own admission, he had a rather violent past before finding God. However, his current issue is that he’s seeking “A holy man buried in one of the older overgrown graves.” He further explains that he “cannot read the epitaphs in your tongue.” If you choose to help him, you will trigger the AC Mirage “Holy Mission” tale.
What you need to do is simply go around the monastery graveyard and read epitaphs. Use your Eagle Vision to highlight with which tombstones you can interact. Immediately upon finding the one about a “pious” person that matches the description, Basim will call the monk. Check out our images below for the exact location of the grave. However, we recommend reading all the epitaphs as they are interesting. One final note. The monk will want to dig up the bones from the grave, as “they will better serve the church instead of rotting”.
