BG3 Adamantine Items
In our BG3 Adamantine Items guide, we are going to give you information on every Adamantine item you can craft in Baldur’s Gate 3: the Adamantine Splint Armor and Scale Mail, the Longsword, Mace and Scimitar, and the Adamantine Shield. Just keep in mind that some of the stats we’ll mention, especially with the damage the weapons do, will vary depending on your stats and proficiency. Let’s begin!
Adamantine Items in BG3
One of two armor Adamantine items in BG3 or Baldur’s Gate 3 is the Adamantine Splint Armor, a heavy armor set. It has an AC of 18, reduces all incoming damage by 2, sends the attacker reeling for 3 turns if they hit you, and attackers cannot score a crit on you. It does give you a disadvantage on Stealth checks and allows no AC bonus from Dexterity.
The second armor set is the Adamantine Scale Mail, a medium armor set. Its AC is 16, it reduces all incoming damage by 1 and sends the attacker reeling for 2 turns if they strike you. It also prevents enemies from landing a crit. Expect a disadvantage on Stealth checks, but the armor does allow you a +2 AC bonus from Dexterity.
There are three Adamantine weapon items in Baldur’s Gate 3 or BG3, and the first one we’ll cover is the Longsword. It does 6~15 damage; to be more exact, 1d10 (1d8)+4 Slashing damage. It has the Diamondsbane trait, which means any hit on an object is always critical. The Lethal Weapon trait means it ignores any resistance to Slashing damage, which is pretty major. Also, it comes with a +1 Weapon Enchantment.
Next up, we have the Adamantine Scimitar. It also comes with the Diamnondsbane and Lethal Weapon traits, meaning that any object you strike will always suffer a critical hit, and the weapon ignores Slashing damage resistance. And, yes, it has the +1 Weapon Enchantment. The only major difference is that it does 1d6+5 damage.
The third weapon on the list of BG3 Adamantine items is the Mace. Like the Longsword and Scimitar, it has Diamnondsbane and Lethal Weapon, as well as the +1 Weapon Enchantment. Unlike those, it does Bludgeoning damage, and therefore ignores Bludgeoning resistance. It does 1d6+5 damage.
Last, but not least, there’s the Adamantine Shield. It adds +2 to your AC and attackers can’t land a crit on you. If a melee attack misses you, the attacker is sent Reeling for 2 turns. The coolest thing it can do, though, is Shield Bash. When an enemy hits you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to knock them prone unless they make a successful Dex saving throw.
