Baldur's Gate 3 Change Appearance After Creation
if you want to know how to change your character appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3 after the creation screen, you’ve come to the right place. As far as we can tell, the game doesn’t actually give you a lot of wiggle room. However, there is one way that you can pull off changing your character appearance. Though, even that’s not quite ideal. Here’s how it works.
How to Change Character Appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3
The only way to change your character appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3 after the character creation screen that we know of is the Mask of the Shapeshifter. You get this item as a part of the Deluxe Edition; I don’t know whether you’re able to earn it in the actual game. The Mask of the Shapeshifter, as the name implies, let’s you alter your appearance, though not as much as you might hope. When you put the mask on, you can then use it’s Shapeshift ability to transform yourself into a member of any playable race with either a masculine or feminine body. As far as we can tell, that’s your lot. The results seem to be randomized; we weren’t able to, say, pick the color of the skin or hairdo or anything like that.
After you change your character appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3 using the mask, you can then safely remove it. Once you want to go back to your usual appearance, you can simply select the Dispel option, as shown in the second image above. You’ll have to go through a long rest before you can use the mask again. And that’s your lot, as far as we’re aware. If there is some other system to alter the appearance of your character after the creation phase, let us know in the comments. We’ll be sure to update the guide with more info once we have it. For now, if you don’t have the Mask of the Shapeshifter, you’re stuck with the character you made. And even with the mask, the change is temporary and you don’t have much agency in the final result.
