Pokemon GO Rhyhorn Spotlight Hour July 2023

The July 2023 Pokemon GO Rhyhorn Spotlight Hour, whose main draw will probably be the chance to catch a shiny, will begin on July 18th at 6 PM local time and end an hour later, at 7 PM local time. In that window, Rhyhorn will spawn in the wild significantly more often than usual. That boosts your chances of encountering a shiny, but we’ll get into that in the next section. Naturally, the Spotlight Hour will also feature an event bonus, which will be double Catch Candy this week. That means you’ll get twice the Candy for every Pokemon you catch. Obviously, you should focus on Rhyhorn given you’ll need about a hundred and twenty-five Candy to evolve it into Rhyperior, but you’ll get double Candy for every Pokemon you catch.

Can Rhyhorn be Shiny?

Yes, Rhyhorn can absolutely be shiny in Pokemon GO, so the July 2023 Spotlight Hour is going to be a great chance to catch one. Well, the fact that it will spawn more often just means that you’ll be able to roll the dice more times. The actual shiny spawn rate still remains as low as normal. And as for the difference between the shiny and regular Rhyhorn, it’s really easy. The normal version is gray, and the shiny is an dirt orange, kinda like a desert rock. No way you can confuse the two, barring problems with color vision. And, yes, every evolution of Rhyhorn (Rhydon and Rhyperior) can also be shiny. So, if you manage to catch a special Rhyhorn, consider evolving it. The first step requires twenty-five Candy, and the second a hundred Candy and a Sinnoh Stone.
