How to Avoid Lightning Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Knowing how to avoid lightning strikes in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is as important as it is in real life. That’s because they are rather deadly and will instantly obliterate you. Luckily, there are quick and easy methods to prevent taking damage from a lightning strike in Zelda TOTK. Read on as we explain everything you need to know about thunder strikes in Zelda TOTK.
How to Avoid Getting Hit by Lightning in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom builds upon the excellent core of BOTW while simultaneously improving it in every way and expanding the gameplay options in countless forms. However, there are some things that have remained roughly the same as they were in BOTW. One such thing is lightning strikes. They are back in TOTK. And they can instantly delete you if you are not careful. Whenever rain starts falling, you’ll soon hear thunders. And as they approach, they will become louder. If Link is susceptible to lightning strikes, he’ll start shining. The animation will look something like sparks of electricity around him.
In those moments, you need to unequip every metal piece of gear from Link. This includes armour pieces, weapons, and shields. Luckily, unlike in BOTW, you no longer need to play a guessing game in TOTK. Namely, developers have added an awesome new animation in TOTK, which clearly shows which items are metallic and will cause Link to be struck by lightning. Hence, open your inventory when thunder strikes and see if any of your equipped gear is shining. If yes, unequip it immediately, and you will be safe.
If you get struck by lightning, it knocks off any weapons Link holds and deals up to 14.5 hearts worth of damage. Later in the game, you will also be able to find the Thunder Helm and the Rubber Set. The first makes you immune to lightning strikes, while the second gives you immense shock resistance.
