Diablo 4 Switch Weapons on Barbarian
Figuring out how to switch weapons in Diablo 4 has been a problem for many players. This is because Diablo IV shakes the gameplay up, therefore causing a significant amount of confusion. Don’t worry, it’s not that big a deal once you figure out what you actually have to do. I’m not sure whether the change was necessary, but people seem to like it in general. Anyways, here’s how the new system works.
How to Switch Weapons in Diablo 4
To switch weapons on the barbarian in Diablo 4 (and in general), you actually have to swap the skill you’re using. Yes, for some reason, the skill you have equipped influences which weapon you can use. Let’s take the Barbarian as an example, sine we’re on the subject. One of their basic skills is Bash, which requires a blunt weapon. On the other hand, Flay requires a slashing weapon. So, if you want to switch from a blunt to a slashing weapon (say, from a mace to a sword), you have to slot in Flay instead of Bash. Your character will then automatically use the weapon that the slotted skill applies to. The same goes for the Rogue: if you want to use your ranged weapons, you must equip a ranged skill, such as Heartseeker or Forceful Arrow.
So, yeah, that’s how you switch weapons in Diablo 4 on the barbarian or any other class. It’s super-counterintuitive if you’re a Diablo veteran. On the other hand, it is an interesting system once you get used to it. It opens various build possibilities. How do you feel about it? Let us know in the comments.
