How to Fix Error Code 2004 in MW2

If you are getting this error message, the first thing that you should always do is to check to see the status of the game’s servers. You can do this by going to this webpage. If the servers are offline – either because of scheduled maintenance or due to some unexpected problems on the developers’ end – there isn’t anything you can do on your end except to wait until the servers are once again back online and working as intended. If, however, everything is working correctly, then the problem could be down to your device or internet connection. As such, there are several things you can do to try and fix this Lobby Not Found Error Cause 10.

So, to begin with, the first thing you should do is to restart the gaming device that you are playing on. If that hasn’t done the trick, the second step is to then restart your internet router. Wait for half a minute or so and then turn it back on again. In case the problem is still persisting, you can also try running the game over your mobile internet. And if that hasn’t helped either, one final thing to try out is to run the game using a VPN. Of course, playing over a VPN is going to result in considerable lag, so be aware of this if you decide to go down this route. Hopefully, one of these solutions will result in you being able to play the game again and no longer getting the MW2 Error Code 2004.

Thank you for writing this and other articles.

I run into this daily, or so it seems. Always first game of the day, and exiting and relaunching COD is a reliable cure.

I got to this page trying to find out “why” COD/Warzone seems to have this bug when no other game I play does?

Also, why hasn’t Activision corrected it?
