Hogwarts Legacy Best Platform
Since the Harry Potter movies series ended all the way back in 2011, there has been a noticeable lack of HP-related video games. Especially big-budget ones. That’s all set to change this February 2023, which is when Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to come out. Set a century before the events of the HP main series, this is a true AAA title in which we’ll get to explore the ins and outs of Hogwarts and reveal the secrets of the Wizarding World. The game is going to be released on all the major gaming platforms, with PS5, Windows, and Xbox X/S being available right from launch, and PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch to arrive sometime later. Of course, this begs the question – which platform for Hogwarts Legacy is the best to buy and play? We’re here to analyze the differences between platforms and see which one is the best pick.
Best Platform for Hogwarts Legacy
To begin with, there are two versions of the game currently available for pre-order. These are – the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition. The Collector’s Edition is no longer available. Both the Standard and Deluxe Editions come with the Onyx Hippogriff pre-order bonus, regardless of the platform you purchased them on. Likewise, the Deluxe Edition provides 72 hours of Early Access to the game, Dark Arts Garrison Hat, as well as the Dark Arts Pack (it consists of the Thestral Mount, Dark Arts Cosmetic Set, and Dark Arts Battle Arena. But this is where the changes between different platforms come in.
Namely, the PlayStation version of the game comes with the Felix Felicis Potion Recipe, and the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest. Again, these are exclusive to the PlayStation. So, to answer the question of which Hogwarts Legacy version to buy and play, we’d have to go with the PS5 Deluxe Edition. It costs $10 more, but it comes with Early Access and several pieces of exclusive content, making it by far the best value for money.
