When is Fortnite Coming Back to iOS
A lot of people want to know when Fortnite is coming back to iOS. And, indeed, is it ever going to happen. After all, Epic have violated Apple’s Terms of Service pretty egregiously. Patching that up is not going to be easy. Then again, there’s money to be made on either side. With all of that said, here’s what we know on the subject so far.
Is Fortnite Coming Back to iOS in 2023?
Yes, Fortnite is coming back to iOS in 2023. That much has been confirmed in the final hours of 2022 by Tim Sweeny, the head honcho of Epic himself, on Twitter. We don’t know when exactly this is going to happen; neither Apple nor Epic have uttered a peep about it at time of writing. We’ll be sure to update the article (or write a new one) as more info comes out. That is, of course, unless Tim Sweeny is just trolling, which is a concern several of his followers have expressed in the replies. Unfortunately, at this stage, all we can do is wait and see what happens. I hope that is legit, for the sake of iOS users.
So, that’s all the information we have on Fortnite coming back to iOS in 2023. Personally, I’m not convinced that Sweeny is just being cheeky. Apple’s platform is huge, meaning it can offer millions of potential paying customers for Epic’s main breadwinner. I mean, sure, Fortnite is not as inescapable as it was a few years ago, but it’s still huge. Epic are leaving a lot of money on the table by not providing the game to iOS users. Then again, the whole schism between Apple and Epic happened over money back in April 2020, when a Fortnite update added a payment system. It circumvented Apple’s payment method, which is against the platform’s ToS. So, who knows how this is all going to shake out. Either way, we’ll keep you posted.
