God of War Ragnarok Old Friends Bug, Stuck in Yggdrasil Fix
Now that God of War Ragnarok is finally out, players are free to explore the entire world of the game at their leisure. Getting from one realm to another involves using Yggdrasil, the mythical World Tree to travel. However, for some players, this isn’t working as intended. Namely, instead of getting the door inside Yggdrasil that is meant to transport you to another realm, the game will glitch out and the door won’t appear. This effectively amounts to a Realm Travel Softlock and you are unable to progress in the game. It usually occurs during the Old Friends quest. So how can you fix this God of War Ragnarok stuck in Yggdrasil Old Friends bug? We have the answer right here.
How to Fix Old Friends Bug, Stuck in Yggdrasil God of War Ragnarok
This particular bug can occur at any time in the game. However, it seems that the most common place for it to happen is in the Old Friends quest. When Atreus needs to travel to Midgard, the door in the hall of Yggdrasil sometimes won’t spawn as intended. Worse yet, loading a save or returning to a previous checkpoint don’t seem to fix this issue. So what is the solution here? Well, there are a couple of things you can try to fix it.
Several players have reported that they managed to get this to work after reloading the game several times, including completely restarting the console altogether. However, this isn’t guaranteed and for some players it took an hour of tinkering and reloading until they finally fixed it. The second solution appears to be much more reliable. Sadly, it will also take a lot more time to do, as it involves completely uninstalling GOWR and then doing a full reinstall. In any case, we hope that Santa Monica Studio are going to release a patch or hotfix for this glitch soon.
I am stuck in old friends as well. Grrrrrrr
Ive reinstalled and reloaded from checkpoints, and restarted my console and have had no luck with solving this
Could you solve the problem? If yes, how? Need help:(
I waited for the game to finish downloading entirely. Once it’s installed all the way, the issue seemed to resolve itself.
