MW2 Weapon Tuning Explained
Like every Call of Duty player knows, your guns are really important, and Modern Warfare 2 is no different in this regard. They – literally – mean the difference between life and death in these games. As such, you will want your guns to be as lethal as possible. This also involves tuning them to maximize their effectiveness. However, there appears to be a problem with MW2 weapon tuning not working at the moment. We’re going to take a look at why that is and when this system might be back in our MW2 Weapon Tuning Explained guide.
How to Tune Weapon MW2
Wondering how to tune attachments in MW2? Well, in order to be able to tune a weapon in MW2, you will first need to max out the level on that weapon. That may take a while, but once you have accomplished that, the next step is to then go to your Weapons tab and select Multiplayer Loadout from there. Select the weapon that you want to tune, and choose the Gunsmith option. From there, you will have more weapon tuning options. At least, that’s the way it used to work up until recently. Now, players are realizing that they can’t tune their weapons in MW2. But why is that? Well, in the next section of this guide, we’ll take a look at why this has happened.
MW2 Weapon Tuning Not Showing Up
The reason why weapon tuning is currently not available in MW2, is because developers Infinity Ward have removed this option. This is due to weapon tuning has been the cause of many crashes. More specifically, for players that have tuned five or more attachments. As such, they have decided to remove the option to tune your attachments until they have fixed this bug on their end. We don’t know exactly when they’ll return tuning to MW2, but we hope that it is going to be sooner rather than later.
We are disabling attachment tuning until further notice to investigate crashes for users with 5 attachments tuned. If you currently have a tuned attachment equipped, you will need to unequip and reequip it to use your loadout.
