Dream Shards Disney Dreamlight Valley, How to Get More & Use
Not sure where to find more Dream Shards in Disney Dreamlight Valley? And what’s the best way to use Dream Shards in Dreamlight Valley? The new Animal Crossing-like adventure offers a host of activities for players, including crafting. And where’s crafting, there’s a ton of various materials and ingredients. However, not all of them are properly explained in-game. If there are not enough Dream Shards in the Valley for you to finish a quest, don’t worry. Our guide explains how to obtain more Dream Shards, where you can find them, and what’s the best farming strategy.
How to Get & Use Dream Shards in Disney Dreamlight Valley
If you’ve purchased the Founder’s Pack, you have already started with 40 Dream Shards from the get-go. First and foremost, this material’s primary function is to be turned into Dreamlight. Dreamlight is used to unlock new areas, which opens up new possibilities. You can craft Dreamlight on a crafting table in Scrooge McDuck’s shop, under the “Potion & Enchantment” tab. However, while this is its main purpose, we heavily advise you not to spend all your Dream Shards on Dreamlight immediately.
That’s because you’ll soon learn that they have other uses, not only Dreamlight crafting. Namely, they are a requirement for various steps across several quests. For example, Merlin will ask you to bring him 10 shards. Mind you, these shards are extremely rare to find in the game. If you spend them recklessly, you’ll find yourself in a rather tricky situation. Thus, we recommend you to be extremely thrifty with their usage.
Get more Dream Shards from Night Thorns Drops
There are two ways in which you can get more Dream Shards in Disney Dreamlight Valley. The first method is by farming (removing) the Night Thorns, which drop Dream Shards. To the best of our knowledge, this is the best way to farm shards. If you’ve cleared all of the Night Thorns, don’t worry. They respawn on a daily basis, so just come back tomorrow. This game uses real-life time, so the new Night Thorns will spawn in 24 hours. In total, 10 new Night thorns appear every day. And, if you have the Dazzle Beach location unlocked, that’s probably the best place to clear Night Thorns and farm Dream Shards.
Get more Dream Shards by Feeding Animals
The second way to obtain more Dream Shards in Disney Dreamlight Valley is by feeding little critters their favourite food. Be warned though, you can only feed animals once per day. If you give them food they don’t like, you’ll have to wait for another 24 hours. With that said, these are currently the only two Dream Shards farming methods in Disney Dreamlight Valley that we know of. However, developers are aware of the balance issues and that many players are struggling to get enough Shards to complete their quests. Thus, they are working on a patch which should hopefully fix this.
