Evil Dead The Game Crossplay, Cross-platform, & Cross-progression
Is Evil Dead: The Game crossplay? The highly anticipated action horror game is bringing back the iconic franchise to consoles for the first time since 2005. Being that the focus is on online multiplayer, gamers want to know if the game will have crossplay and cross-progression support, in case they want to game with friends from other platforms. Here’s what we know about cross-platform play in Evil Dead: The Game.
Is There Crossplay Support for Evil Dead: The Game?
Developed by Saber Interactive, Evil Dead: The Game features asymmetrical action multiplayer, where one group of players can play as regular people (survivors), while a player can take a role of a powerful demon. Asides from asymmetrical, there’s also a co-op mode where friends can join forces to play against AI.
As you can see, the game is heavily inspired by Dead by Daylight and similar horror asymmetrical titles. As such, it is a perfect fit for cross-platform support. And the good news is that the developers have officially confirmed that there will be full cross-play support in Evil Dead: The Game.
This means that you and your friends can seamlessly play between various consoles and PC with each other. If you play on a PC, your friend on an Xbox Series X, and your brother on a PS4, you can all play together. That’s right, not only that it has full crossplay support, but it also has limitless cross-gen play. The current and old-gen will have exactly the same version of the game.

When it comes to the Nintendo Switch, Evil Dead: The Game will be released there at a later date. However, it has been already confirmed that cross-play will work for the Switch as well.
Does Evil Dead: The Game have cross-progression?
Unlike crossplay support, things are less clear regarding the cross-progression feature. Saber Interactive didn’t say anything about it, and given how big and important cross-progression is, they would certainly promote it if the game has that feature. Thus, we are inclined to say that there is no cross-progression support. You won’t be able to transfer your progress, characters, unlocks and everything to other platforms. Rather, your account will most likely be locked to a specific platform. It’s unfortunate, but it is what it is.
