The Stranded Graveyard Elden Ring first imp statue is the first one that you’ll come across, as well as the first white fog barrier, and beyond it lie the Fringe Folk Heroes Grave dungeon and the Ulcerated Tree Spirit. Seems like a lot of fun, right? So, how do you actually drop the fog wall and go in? And what does the imp statue have to do with it? And why you get the message “not enough Stonesword Keys”. Don’t worry, we’ll explain everything you need to know in this guide.

Elden Ring First Imp Statue at Stranded Graveyard – Not enough Stonesword Key

You need to use two Stonesword Keys on the first Elden Ring imp statue in Stranded Graveyard to remove the white fog barrier and unlock access to the Fringe Folk Heroes Grave dungeon (actually called Fringefolk Hero’s Grave) and its boss, the Ulcerated Tree Spirit. This early in the game, the only way you’d have access to two Stonesword Keys is if you chose it as a Keepsake at the start of the game. Just approach the statue and investigate it. The game will ask whether you want to use Stonesword Keys on it or not. Select yes, and the fog wall will dissipate. If you don’t have enough keys, a window with a message “not enough stonesword key” will pop up. It’s not a bug, you just don’t have two keys.

Before you do this, we have to tell you that the area beyond the fog is extremely difficult. We strongly discourage you from attempting it until you’re at least level 30. If you don’t believe me, and don’t mind spoilers, well, just keep reading. See if you think you can handle the dungeon.

Fringe Folk Heroes Grave – Ulcerated Tree Spirit Boss

The Fringe Folk Heroes Grave (real name Fringefolk Hero’s Grave) dungeon and the Ulcerated Tree Spirit boss await you after you use the Stonesword Keys on the first imp statue at Stranded Graveyard in Elden Ring. The first thing you have to do is jump down into toxic water that inflicts poison very rapidly. You have to run around the corner on the right before it starts sapping your health. Don’t run too far, though, lest you run into the giant, mechanical war chariot that will insta-kill you.

So, your task now is to make it all the way down to the bottom while dodging the chariot by diving into the alcoves on the sides. There will be enemies in these, so be careful. And it’s a looong way down. When you do get to the end, sprint around and to the right, and you’ll be in front of a wall of yellow fog. Yes, that’s where the Ulcerated Tree Spirit awaits you, and a fierce boss it is. Luckily, there’s Stake of Marika just outside, so you don’t have to traverse the whole dungeon when you inevitably die to the tree spirit.

Your rewards for beating the Ulcerated Tree Spirit will be a Golden Seed and the Banished Knight Oleg ashes. So, pretty good haul. However, I must repeat, do not attempt this dungeon at the start. Wait at least until level 30 or so.

Very early in your exploration of Elden Ring world you will find out that you need to prepare your character for different tasks. You'll need to learn how to use Ashes of War, how to two-hand weapons, or use magic spells during the course of your adventures.
