Accept or Refuse Melina Elden Ring Choice
The accept or refuse Melina Elden Ring choice is one of the most important choices in the game. Basically, it’s the difference between a normal playthrough and an absolute nightmare reserved for the most dedicated speedrunners. That’s why we’ve put together this guide, in which we’ll show you what happens in each case. Plus, we’ll explain how you can reverse your choice if you refuse by accident. Mind you, there will be SPOILERS in this article from here on. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Accept Melina Choice Elden Ring
If you decide to accept Melina in her Elden Ring choice and not refuse, you’ll unlock the option to level up. Much like in, say, Bloodborne, you actually have to work before you get the gentle woman that helps you level up. Yes, she is the person that you give Runes to in exchange for levels. So, that’s pretty important, but what’s maybe just as important, Melina gives you Spectral Steed Whistle. Without it, you can’t summon your horse, Torrent. Your noble steed is far faster than you, doesn’t spend stamina on running, and can double-jump. So, yeah; it’s in your best interest to accept Melina immediately.
Elden Ring Refuse Melina Choice
If you refuse Melina in the Elden Ring choice instead of accept, you won’t be able to level up, nor will you have a horse. Needless to say, this will make the game infinitely harder. Now, I know there will be speedrunners that will be doing “No Melina” runs in, like, a month after launch. However, I don’t recommend saying “no” to her in your first playthrough. That said, if you do refuse her by accident, don’t worry; you’ll have the option to talk to Melina at any site of grace you rest at. Incidentally, you’ll first meet this NPC at the bonfire called Gatefront, near the entrance to Stormgate. It’s in the northeast of Limgrave, past the Church of Elleh, through the woods, north of Gatefront Ruins.
Very early in your exploration of Elden Ring world you will find out that you need to prepare your character for different tasks. You'll need to learn how to use Ashes of War, how to two-hand weapons, or use magic spells during the course of your adventures. Many secrets are also waiting for you, such as, a hostile NPC Sellen that doesn't let you see her shop, an invisible man in a bush, or a huge turtle with a bell that lets you duplicate some very important items.
