Icarus Place Doors, How to Build Doors & Windows
If you’re having trouble with how to build and place doors and windows in Icarus, we’ve got you covered. These are all relatively basic items of making a shelter, so you’ll probably hit this snag relatively early in the game, while you’re still trying to figure the games mechanics out. That’s why we’ve put together this guide, in which we’ll show you how to craft doors and windows and how to place them in Icarus.
How to Build Doors & Windows in Icarus
To build doors and windows in Icarus, you’ll first have to unlock all the Tier 1 unlockables in the Tech tree. Basically, you need to get access to the Thatched Beam and Thatched Floor, which then opens the way to the Thatched Wall, and unlocking that will then let you craft doors and windows in Icarus. Well, the Thatch Window and Door; you’ll get others over time, but you have to start somewhere. From that point, you just need to gather enough materials; for example, the Thatch Door requires 10x Fiber and 4x Sticks. However, to place doors in Icarus, you have to jump through a few more hoops. Let’s explain that real quick.
How to Place Doors & Windows in Icarus
To place windows and doors in Icarus, you need to select the wall from the building menu. Hover the wall at the place where you want to make the door or window, but don’t put the wall there. Instead, press and hold the “R” button. This will give you a new menu where you can select different builds of walls, some of which clearly include a hole for a window / a doorway. So, if you want a door, select and place the wall that features the doorway. Only then can you actually snap a door on there. The same goes for windows, of course. It’s a little more complicated than it might need to be, but there you have it.
