Dragon Ball The Breakers Closed Beta

Being one of the most well-known – and enduring – manga and anime series of all time, it’s no wonder that there have been many Dragon Ball video game adaptations over the years. The fact that the series mostly revolves around fighting also makes it ideal for video gaming. Dragon Ball: The Breakers is the newest such game. Set in the Dragon Ball Xenoverse, it is a bit of a departure from the usual shonen fighting tropes. Instead of outright fighting, The Breakers is more of a game of cat and mouse. Players can be either Raiders, or Survivors. The Raiders hunt the Survivors, and the Survivors try to, well, survive. And, as we will see in this Dragon Ball The Breakers Closed Beta article, the game is set to have a Beta soon.

When is the Dragon Ball The Breakers Closed Beta Set to Begin

The date when the Closed Beta will start, or the overall duration of how long it’s going to last, has been officially confirmed. The Breakers Closed Beta Test will run from December 3 to 4, 2021. The session times are December 3 from 6pm-10pm PT, December 4 from 4am-8am PT, 10am-2pm PT, and 6pm-10pm PT. Dragon Ball: The Breakers launches in 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

As for gameplay, the Dragon Ball: The Breakers is described as an asymmetrical multiplayer game with an emphasis on survival. You can play as one of the most iconic Dragon Ball baddies such as Frieza, Cell, and Boo, who are, of course, the Raiders. Or, you can play as one of the Survivors which include Bulma and Oolong – and probably others as well.

Since the Survivors don’t have superpowers and can’t really fight back, they’ll have to rely on their wits, cooperation, and other abilities (such as Bulma’s Capsule Corp items) to make it to the Super Time Machine and escape their pursuers. While definitely not the first game to have this gameplay concept, we’ll see how it will work out in Dragon Ball’s setting.
