Pokemon GO Cresselia Weakness & Counters
Cresselia, a Generation IV Legendary Pokemon, will be available in Pokemon GO for a short time. From November 16th until December 1st 2021, you will have a chance of encountering and battling this powerful Pokemon. Of course, to be able to defeat it, you will need to exploit its weakness and employ the right counters. To save you the time and effort you otherwise would have needed to spend figuring this out, our Pokemon GO Cresselia Weakness & Counters guide is here to tell you precisely what works against Cresselia.
Pokemon Go Cresselia Weaknesses & Counters
Cresselia is a Psychic-type Pokemon. Her possible Fast Moves include Confusion (Psychic) and Psycho Cut (Psychic). For Charged Moves, she can employ Aurora Beam (Ice), Future Sight (Psychic), and Moonblast (Fairy). Cresselia is weak against Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type Pokemon and resistant to Fighting and Psychic-types. Here are some good Pokemon and their moves that you can use against Cresselia:
- Mega Gyarados – Bite and Crunch.
- Mega Absol – Snarl and Dark Pulse.
- Mega Houndoom – Shadow Claw and Shadow Punch.
- Mega Beedrill – Infestation and X-Scissor.
- Tyranitar – Snarl and Dark Pulse.
- Darkrai – Bug Bite or Bug Buzz.
- Hydreigon – Bite and Dark Pulse.
- Giratina – Shadow Claw and Shadow Sneak or Ominous Wind.
Other good alternatives include Gengar, Scizor, Yanmega, Weavile, Chandelure, and Hydreigon. A good tactic here is to open up with a strong Dark-type Pokemon like Darkrai and Tyranitar. If you run out of Dark-types before defeating Cresselia, you can always switch over to using Ghost-types to finish it off.
How to Get Shiny Cresselia in Pokemon Go
Like every other Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO, you have a 1 in 20 chance of getting a Shiny Cresselia instead of a regular one. The good news is that all Shiny Legendaries have a 100% success catch rate – if you do not miss them with every ball, that is.
