How to Use Scrolls of Identify to Identify Items in D2 Resurrected

In Diablo 2 Resurrected, the most reliable way to identify loot is by using Scrolls of Identify. You can either buy these, or get them from enemy drops. Being so useful, they are one of the most common drops in the game. To use them, go into your inventory, right-click on a Scroll of Identify, and then click on the unidentified item in your inventory to find out what its actual stats are. A big advantage to using scrolls of Identify is that you can use them whenever you choose, even in the middle of a fight. You should always carry at least several of these with you at all times so that you can quickly figure out if that latest drop from a boss enemy is worth keeping – maybe even equipping.

How to Identify Items for Free in D2 Resurrected

In Act 1, once you’ve completed the Den of Evil and the Sisters’ Burial Grounds quests, you will get the Search for Cain quest. The goal here is to, of course, find and rescue Deckard Cain. This will take you all the way to Tristram, the iconic town from Diablo 1. After you rescue Cain, he will reward you by identifying items for you for free. So, you can return (or Town Portal) to your base in each Act, and Cain will be there to identify your loot free of charge. However, this is only if you have rescued him. If you haven’t, he will still appear in Act 2, but will charge you 200 Gold per item instead.
