How to Get Valheim Lox Saddle

To get the Lox Saddle in Valheim, you’re going to need to gather three ingredients in fairly big numbers. Some of these materials are fairly difficult to get, but let’s be honest, it’s worth it. Who doesn’t want to ride into battle on what’s essentially a living tank? So, here’s what you’re going to need.

  • 10 Leather Scraps
  • 15 Black Metal Ingots
  • 20 Linen Thread

If you’ve been away from the game for a little bit, let me refresh your memory. You get Leather Scraps by either skinning boars in the Meadows, or by wrecking the large piles of scraps in the Crypts in the Swamp biome. As for Black Metal Ingots, you need to gather black metal scraps from Fuling, Fuling Shamans, and / or Fuling Berserkers. Then, you have to smelt them in a Blast Furnace to make ingots (more details in our Valheim Black Metal guide). Lastly to get the Valheim Lox Saddle, you need linen thread. For that, you have to gather Flax, which is a plant native to the Plains and can only ever grow there. Then, you have to build a Spinning Wheel which spins the Flax into Linen Thread. Check out our Valheim Linen Thread – How to Make guide for more info.

Once you have everything you need, simply head to your workbench (a level 1 workbench should do), and craft the saddle. Now all you need to do is tame a Lox. With that out of the way, approach the animal, and place the saddle on its back (works the same way as placing objects in general). You’re ready to ride your new lizard steed to victory.
