So, let’s see what you need to do to help him make his jelly bean-flavored dreams come true.

When the Jelly Bean Counter asks you how many jelly beans you think there are in the jelly bean jar, say 800. After giving that answer, Alex will sense that the Jelly Bean Lady has changed, so use your powers on her. It will turn out that you were close. Talk with the Jelly Bean Counter again, and this time say 700. Use your powers on the Jelly Bean Lady one last time and she will give you the correct number of jelly beans: 731. Finally, talk to the Jelly Bean Counter to give him the true answer. Needless to say, the Jelly Bean Lady will be very surprised by you figuring this out.
