Does Diablo 2 Resurrected Beta Progress Carry Over
A lot of players have been asking whether the Diablo 2 Resurrected beta progress will carry over to the full game. After all, Blizzard is offering both a closed and open beta; if you play both of them, you can make a substantial amount of progress. Of course people are gonna be protective over it, so to speak. So, will any of the progress carry over from the Diablo 2 Beta? Let’s find out.
Diablo 2 Resurrected Beta – Does Progress Carry Over to the Full Game
No, your progress in the Diablo 2 Ressurected beta does not carry over to the full game. Blizzard have confirmed as much in a lengthy post about the beta. In it, they state the situation as plainly as possible: “Your progression from the Early Access or Open Beta will not carry over to the LIVE release.” Honestly, this shouldn’t be surprising to anybody. I don’t know of many games like Diablo 2 that have a beta and then let you carry progress over into the full release. After all, the game has a multiplayer component, the balance of which might be upset if you don’t wipe the beta progress.
This is especially true when we consider the fact that the game has had a closed beta that was exclusive to those that pre-ordered the game. It just wouldn’t be fair to not reset all progression for everybody before launch. All that said, I do have a bit of good news for those of you that have played the closed beta. All the progress you have made there will carry over into the open beta that starts on August 20th. In other words, you’ll get to experience a significantly greater portion of the game than those that only play the open beta. Hey, it’s something.
So, does the Diablo 2 Resurrected Beta progress carry over? No. But, at least you’ll get a pretty good taste of what’s in store. Diablo 2 Resurrected is coming out on September 23rd. You’ll be able to play it on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PlayStation 4 and 5.
I enjoyed playing diablo2 on pc. I would think with the improvements to char creation and graphics like in d3 that d2 would have that improved aspect atleast.
Well i wish i would have figured this out before i got to level 25
I know Blizzard doesn’t recognize or respect progress, like women’s rights! They can at least respect and recognize the progress I’ve made in this Beta! What did I pay extra for? To help pay for the lawsuit that is underway?!
I would agree with there reasons if it weren’t the fact that it is a remake of a game that is really old. The balance issues have had tons of time to be straightened out
I think it not carrying over is BS. If you paid to preorder then you should get an advantage. As far as a “Multiplayer” aspect, who is going to PvP a character 20-30 levels above them anyway? On another note, PvP is a tiny fraction of the gameplay for D2. It’s garbage the cop doesn’t carry over.
The ladder isn’t even started on launch and so there will be a reset on everyone after about a week anyway
Outriders Beta progression carried over into the full game. So it’s not unheard of in a multi-player game. And it also didn’t make thing less balanced or fair. To be fair, the players who kept their progression already played through the game to gain them the level, items, etc- so what exactly is unfair anyway?
I think you meant “less balanced and unfair”. And I agree.
