Ghost of Tsushima Sequel - Ghost of Ikishima In Development
The superb Ghost of Tsushima was one of the best PS4 exclusives of 2020 and it looks like a sequel is in development – titled Ghost of Ikishima. As you can see in our Ghost of Tsushima review, we liked it quite a bit. So, naturally, we are very excited about this sequel. The news was first leaked by prominent industry insider Shpeshal_Nick, and another leaker, Resetera user KatharsisT, also confirmed this. Of course, all of this could end up being just baseless rumors. Though, a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima isn’t that far-fetched and will probably happen sooner or later even if this turns out to be untrue. With that said, let’s see what the rumors are saying about Ghost of Ikishima.
What is Ghost of Ikishima
From everything discussed so far, it seems like it will be a standalone expansion in the Spider-Man: Miles Morales style. So, you can expect a smaller playtime when compared to the original, as well as a probable new protagonist. The name refers to the Iki Archipelago in the Tsushima Strait. These islands were ravaged during the Mongol Invasions of Japan, so it makes sense thematically that they are used in this mini-sequel as well. However, the biggest question so far is which platforms the game will get released on. Though Sony still has few PlayStation 5 exclusives, fans are speculating that it will most probably be released cross-gen. Of course, it will almost certainly be another PlayStation exclusive. Horizon: Forbidden West and the still-unnamed God of War sequel will likewise be released on PS4 and PS5 systems.
The leak also mentions that the game will be out sometime this year. If that is indeed the case, then we can expect an official confirmation soon. We will post more Ghost of Ikishima news as soon as more information becomes available.
