AC Valhalla has been crashing for a number of players since the Ostara festival started. Error CE-34878-0 is a general error indicating that the game you are currently playing has crashed. The fix is pretty simple – all you have to do is start up the game again. It may not work the first time, but keep trying and you’ll eventually get there. Easy peasy. If this error keeps showing up there may be some other issues with your console.
- First make sure that your system is up to date.
- Disconnect your console from the internet, maybe some content cannot be downloaded, so you can bypass the issue if your console is offline.
- Make some changes in the settings and set your PS4 video output settings to 1080, also you can disable Supersampling mode
- Restart the console
- Clear cache by turning completely the Console off for 60 seconds and disconnect power cable. Connect the power cord, and press power button for 10 seconds.
Once you’re in, you’ll be greeted by a blooming Ravensthorpe, decorated with flowers and filled with merry song. There’s a dozen new quests, all tied to the festival. You can take part in drinking competitions, experience the famous egg hunt, help Alvis protect the village from evil spirits, sing, dance, and decorate the village with even more ornaments.
You won’t be doing it just for fun, though – you’ll also earn rewards. These include new tatoo designs you can use to decorate your ripped viking body, but they also include something that lets you show off your gentler side. Yes, they have finally added daisly laurels as headwear, which means your big, burly, bearded viking can finally be the princess he always dreamed of being.
The festival will last for 20-odd days, so you have more than enough time to complete all the activities and get the rewards you want the most. There’s a nasty warning message that’s popping up for lots of folks, saying the festival will end in 48 hours – take no notice of it, it appeared prematurely. It’s supposed to appear 2 days before the end of the festival, but for some reason it’s erroneously showing already.

error after error ce-34878-0 this big why can;t ubisoft fix this i spent so much money in this game and hours on hours love the game but this is got to be fix or i will never buy ubisoft again sorry but thats the real world? cheers to all the gamers who have this error band to stop this please thankyou
it’s unplayable like this…1st crash is after about an hour of gameplay, after that it keeps on crashing every 5 to 10 minutes or so no mather what I do…power off/on, cable in/out, online/offline…license renewal…nothing but crashes
Mine crashed at the first fight, and at least 10 times on the f**** egg hunt took me forever because I had to restart the entire search praying for it not to crash again …
Unplayable on Xbox One X. Random crashes around Ravensthorpe most notably during brawls.
I’m PS4, tried all suggestions in this article- still crashes *very* often in Viking Brawl. To outline how I got here:
Ostera started, I did all the quests once to try them out. In Viking Brawl, I beat one guy and quit. Now there are three quests left. The drinking one, the archery one, and Viking Brawl. I did Viking Brawl again and made it through 7 fights and quit again. Now right before it crashes, my screen gets blurry- looks like this may be by design- once I got an in-game message right before it crashed “You are losing focus.” It seems to happen whenever my health gets a bit below half. Anyway this is easily replicable so I would hope they have a fix out soon.
Also, keep an ear out for your console. Before I tried doing the author’s suggestions, mine was working *hard* and was hot to the touch. Resetting the cache fixed that issue, but if anything it crashes more often now- only during Viking Brawl though, so I’m done with this quest until the next game update comes out.
Okay it’s good to see this is not just happening to me but sucks that’s it’s happening and even worse more frequently now.
Yeah viking brawl Round 4-5 crashes for me as well ps4 tried turning playstation off back on still the same

same for me 5 crashes in the last hour i cant even get the egg hunt done, i can usually play for hours on by pc with no problems what so ever even at max settings (even if it does get a little toasty for me) next try i’ll drop it to minimum settings just to see if it is the setting doing it for this update.
lasted longer and looked awful, but still ended up crashing while in the final round of the fights, after doing most of the content except the hunt and drinking so it’s not got anything to do with settings, they must have messed something up with the update.
I have given up trying to earn the tokens in the brawl.
Crashed on me 4 times in round two then I got to round 6 and it crashed again.
In Viking Brawl the game crashes at the beginning of the 6th fight. Very annoying. Is there something else to do about it?
Same issues. Xbox one, after the Ostara update the game freezes at random moments, every time. Restarted over and over again.
well that wasn’t very helpful, it has crashed for me 4 times in an hour last night! so starting up the game over and over again doesn’t really fix anything – I gave up. Never had so many crashes with any of the previous updates. Hope it will be fixed soon as unplayable for me atm.
I have restarted it over and over and the error always comes up in the second fight in the ring like clockwork and 1 to 2 times a day random. for a great series like this I’m disgusted there’s so many issues
I have also had this same problem. During the second fight in the brawl, my game crashes and errors. I don’t understand why. My game also has the bug which doesn’t allow me to pass the quest that requires me to fight Dag.
My game always crashes in the fight, it happened in round 5 , 6 , 8 , 9 and 10… I’m going to try it one last time and if it crashes again, I will delete the game untill they give us the first dlc (if they do because it seems like they forgot the players who bought the gold edition)
Made it to the 6th fight before error hit and that was after following these steps.
Same issue for me in the fighting part of the festival. Twice in a row it crashed. So frustrating.
