Valheim Wishbone - How to Get and Use Wishbone
Wishbone in Valheim is an item that you can get and use in the game to find secret, hidden treasure, such as ore and chests. Of course, first you have to figure out how to get the Wishbone, which is an adventure in and of itself. Once you do manage to get your hands on the item, you have to decipher how to use it. If you’re having trouble with either of these points, then our Valheim Wishbone – How to Get and Use Wishbone guide is the right place for you.
How to Get Wishbone in Valheim?
To get the Valheim Wishbone, you have to beat the boss of the Swamp biome, aka the Bonemass. You can read about this boss battle in detail in our Bonemass – How to Spawn & Kill Third Boss Tips guide. We’ll give you a quick rundown here: make a hammer-type weapon, like the Stagbreaker. Next, craft a bunch of Frost Arrows, and I’m talking at least a hundred.
After that, go through the Crypts and gather ten Withered Bones, then find the summoning portal. Go to a nearby tree and make a treehouse way up above, with a hole in the floor and a workbench inside. Summon the Bonemass, then run into your house. Wait for it to come under the hole, and just pelt it with arrows. Mop up the minions with your hammer. The Wishbone drops from the boss.
How to Use Valheim Wishbone?
To use the Wishbone in Valheim, you simply have to equip it. If you’re near a hidden, buried treasure, it’ll start emitting green sparks (or rays, if you will), as well as a kind of beeping or chiming sound. The closer you come to the hidden treasure, the faster the beeping will be. When it gets real fast, take out your equipment and start digging. Just keep in mind that the goods can sometimes be pretty deep underground, so don’t get discouraged.
This system can help you find a bunch of useful stuff. For example, it can be invaluable in discovering silver ore in the Mountains. Considering that you’ll be battling wolves and freezing temperatures and low visibility up there, the Wishbone can end up being quite the lifesaver.
