Where to find case file in Dartmoor?
The case file is hidden in a safe in Alexa Carlisle’s office on the second floor. The intended way is to solve the murder mystery, then ask Madam Carlisle to give you the case file as a reward. It’s a fun diversion, especially on your first playthrough, but you won’t be interested in doing it every time. Thankfully, there’s a way to get it yourself.
Enter the mansion and look for a lone bodyguard – you need his suit. Once you’re disguised, head up to the second floor. Go to Alexa’s office and approach the desk. If you look at the chair, you’ll see a button embedded in one of the hand rests. Push it, and the doberman picture on the nearby wall will slide away, revealing a safe.
When you approach the safe, you’ll find four symbols above it – a clock, a telescope, a fire and a moose head. If you look around the manor for these objects, you’ll find a number inscribed near each. Enter these numbers in the correct order and the safe will open.
Thankfully, the safe combination isn’t randomized, so it’ll be the same for everyone – 1975. Just enter the numbers and the safe will open, allowing you to grab the files you needed.
