Hitman 3 Carry Over Progression - IOI Account
Carry over progression to Hitman 3 via your IOI account is a system where you can transfer your progress from Hitman 2 to Hitman 3. The progression that you can carry over to Hitman 3 includes your player profile, XP rank, location mastery levels, location mastery unlocks, challenge progress, challenge unlocks, and more. However, the system is not exactly intuitive, and has a lot of caveats that make things a bit unclear. So, to make things easier for you, here’s our Hitman 3 Carry Over Progression – IOI Account guide.
How to Carry Over Progression to Hitman 3 via IOI Account – How to Import?
To carry over your progress from Hitman 2 into Hitman 3, you’ll have to have an IOI account, and link it to whatever account you’ve been playing Hitman 3 on. You won’t be able to do that in-game; you’ll have to do it via browser, through a dedicated website that, as of writing this article, isn’t live yet. Once you do that, you’ll be able to review all your Hitman 2 progress, and confirm that you want to carry it over. That’s how to import progression to Hitman 3. There are many limitations, though, so let’s go over those.
For one, progression can only carry over from Hitman 2, but that does include the Legacy Pack. You can only transfer progress onto the same platform family – PlayStation to PlayStation, Xbox to Xbox, PC to PC. Of course, you can do it from PS4 to PS4 and Xbox One to Xbox Series X / S, but not from PS to Xbox. You get the idea. If, perchance, you’ve played Hitman 2 on several platforms, you can carry over progress from each of them separately, but again, no cross-platform.
Progression carryover to Hitman 3 is a one-time deal. You can’t do it again at a later date. Of course, your progress in Hitman 2 will stay as it is, you won’t lose anything. That said, the progression won’t synchronize. What I mean is, if you make more progress in Hitman 2 post-transfer, it won’t transfer to Hitman 3, nor can you import it. Same goes the other way around.
What’s even more important to mention is that carrying over progress to Hitman 3 will erase any progress you might have made in the game up until that point. So, make sure to perform the transfer before you dive too deeply into Hitman 3. It would suck beyond words if you lost valuable hours of gameplay.
What Progression Carries Over to Hitman 3?
According to IOI Interactive, the progress that carries over to Hitman 3 includes your “existing player profile, XP rank, location mastery levels, location mastery unlocks, challenge progress, challenge unlocks and Elusive Target suits/unlocks.” It does not include save files, of course. There are some limitations to these too, so let’s dive in.
To begin, “rewards unlocked through the Hitman 1 GOTY Escalations, because they are linked to a purchase.” You’ll gain access to them after redeeming access to the associated content. Also, the ICA Electrocution Phone is not and will not be in Hitman 3, so you can forget about that. And mind you, the transfer is an all-or-nothing deal. You can’t pick and choose what you want to carry over.
For those of you that are going to play Hitman 3 on Stadia wondering about how to import your progress, worry not. All the stuff you’ve earned by playing Hitman: World of Assassination both in H1 and H2, will automatically carry over to 3. Mind you, Stadia and PC are not the same platform, so you can’t transfer across them. Those of you on the Switch have no horse in this race. This is the first Hitman on the platform, so you’ve got nothing to carry over.
No eligible HITMAN 2 accounts found
Many players reported “No eligible HITMAN accounts found” issue while trying to carry over data, even though they created IOI account and linked it through PSN. The only answer that we can give you at this moment is that IO is working on this error. Hitman 3 carry over website is not working properly at the moment and players have a lot of problems with carryover.
We're hard at work on getting IOI Account back online to enable progression carryover.

We'll tell you when it's fully operational again. Please press F5 on Twitter instead of our site. We want it back up and running just as much as you do. Thanks! pic.twitter.com/4St0a2hYtQ
Escalation missions and story completions haven’t transferred so all the 100% achieved previous appears to have been a wasted effort in anticipation of being able to carry it all over… Very annoying
