How to stop overheating?

The most straightforward way to stop overheating is to kill the netrunner who’s causing it. This is easier said than done, as you often won’t be able to tell which enemy is responsible for the effect. There’s a perk called I Spy – it’s in the Intelligence perks, under Quickhacking. It’ll mark the netrunner that’s hacking you, allowing you to kill them more easily.

Killing the person responsible is the only way to make sure it won’t happen again, in that fight at least. However, there are measures you can take to avoid it without knowing who’s causing it. The netrunner needs line of sight in order to hack you, which means that if you hide, the overheat will stop.

Getting into deep cover will prevent them from seeing you, but you’ll also have to deal with cameras. Shoot or hack any cameras that are pointed at you, and the netrunner will lose sight of you, which will prevent them from deploying the overheat hack.

Coming into a fight prepared is the best solution, as always. If you can, take a moment to scan the enemies one by one before you engage – this way, you’ll know who can hack you, so you can focus on them first. Scanning the environment will also allow you to take note of all the cameras they could use against you.

THis doesnt work AT ALL, i get hacked behind buildings, so line of sight doesn’t matter whatsoever, once they start hacking it’s a matter of luck if they’ll finish or not. Some times they do, rarely they don’t
