SteelSeries Announces New Aerox 3 & Aerox 3 Wireless Gaming Mouse
The upcoming Aerox 3 and Aerox 3 wireless gaming mice from SteelSeries focus on being light, while not sacrificing the quality of the materials and components. So much so that the normal version weighs in at 57 grams, while the wireless option clocks in at 66 grams. That’s 2 ounces and 2.3 ounces respectively, for those of you not into the metric system. Of course, the lightness is not the only selling point, so let’s get into the details.
The Aerox 3 Wireless is optimized for sudden and quick movements. It comes with a TrueMove Air sensor that clocks in at 18,000 CPI, 400IPS and 40G. You can connect it via Bluetooth or a 2.4 GHz wireless USB. Depending on which one you use, you’ll get a different battery life. If in 2.4 GHz mode, it lasts over eighty hours, and in Bluetooth mode, you can get up to two hundred hours from this puppy. On top of that, despite its kinda-honeycomb design, it’s the first gaming mouse to get the IP54 rating. That means it’s really resistant to water, oil, dust, and other gaming detritus.
As for the “regular” Aerox 3, it has several features identical to its wireless counterpart. Specifically, we’re talking about the IP54 protection against the elements, the honeycombish design, RGB lighting, and the USB-C connection. However, not all the components are the same. This one uses a TrueMove Core sensor, which gives you 8,500 CPI, 300 IPS, 35G. So, the performance isn’t necessarily as smooth as the wireless one, but it’ll get the job done. Both Aerox 3 and Aerox 3 Wireless are hitting store shelves, digital and physical, on November 3rd. The former will cost $60, and the latter $100.
