The Binding of Isaac Repentance DLC Announced

Repentance, the third and (allegedly) final major content drop for The Binding of Isaac, is nearing completion. So much so that, to celebrate the ninth anniversary of the game’s launch, creator Edmund McMillen has unveiled the Steam page for the DLC. According to McMillen, there’s enough content for an entire sequel in the upcoming expansion. You’ll have a lot to sink your teeth into, is what I’m saying.

The Binding of Isaac Repentance DLC Announced

So, what do we know about the upcoming Repentance DLC? Well, the blog post is very, very light on details. By design, I’d imagine. But, for one, we know that the expansion will be truly huge. The developers claim it’s “actually bigger than Rebirth was to the OG flash game.” A sequel’s worth of stuff, as we’ve mentioned already. The second thing the post tells us is that the content is 90% done. So, if you’ve become a little tired of The Binding of Isaac after your 500th hour, you’ll have new stuff to play sooner than you might’ve expected.

That’s about the long and short of what we know at the moment, unfortunately. However, if you check out the post, you’ll notice that McMillen seems genuineness psyched too present the new content to the fan base. His delight is honestly infectious, and it’s wonderful to see someone so happy about their work.

So, yeah. If you want to wishlist The Binding of Isaac Repentance, you can do so on the Steam page. There’s no option to pre-order it yet or anything. The date on the page says that the planned release date is in late December, but I’m fairly certain that’s just a placeholder. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. The blog post does promise updates “fairly regularly starting the second half of October,” so we’ll know soon enough.
