Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time leaked a couple of days ago when the Taiwan Ratings Board leaked the name of the game along with covers for the console versions of the game. The leak was accurate since we’ve got the release trailer for the game a couple of hours ago. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is the first original Crash Bandicoot game in quite some time. Mind over Mutant came back in 2008 so we haven’t got a new Crash game in more than a decade.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time trailer shows a game with detailed visuals, saturated colors, and stunning vistas. While level design pretty much reflects the original trilogy, visually the game looks incredible. New Crash Bandicoot is a brand-new game and it shows. As for the updated visual design of Crash and his friends, they look recognizable with minor changes. Overall, the game looks fantastic and the new art style isn’t deviating too far from the original formula.
The upcoming game also brings many gameplay additions. There’s the regular jumping and spinning but we can also see Crash using gravity inverting powers, teleportation, and time dilation with the help of four quantum masks, friends of Aku Aku. While the core of the gameplay hasn’t changed, this is still a classic 3D platformer, the introduction of new powers could make noticeable improvements in terms of level design and fun-factor.

This time players will control not only Crash and Coco but also Neo Cortex, “to gain alternate perspectives into how our bandicoot heroes are saving the world one shimmy dance at a time.” The game should also include additional playable characters. The release date for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is October 2, 2020. The game is coming to the PS4 and Xbox One. There’s no mention about the PC version but we may get one at a later date.
