How to Open Large Gates in Maneater
Large gates in Maneater are basically dams that bar you from entering certain areas until you’re either powerful enough to jump over them, or figure out a way to open them yourself. Fortunately, opening the Maneater large gates is fairly easy, once you realize what you’re supposed to do. So, that’s exactly what we’ll be showing you in our How to Open Large Gates in Maneater guide.
Maneater Large Gates – How to Open?
To open the large gates in Maneater, the first thing is to grab a red animal (aka a predator) with your jaws while close to the giant red button above. Then, approach the red button and position yourself so that your targeting reticule auto-locks onto the button. As soon as that happens, hit Tailwhip (L1 on PS4 by default or whatever the equivalent is on your platform and setup). Your shark will whip the beast you’ve captured right into the button, opening the gates.
This system works with any of the gates that you’ll encounter, be they in Caviar Key, Prosperity Sands, etc. Also, any predator with the red outline is gonna do. Alligators, swordfish, muskellunges, you name it. As long as it doesn’t have a white outline; your shark will devour those poor souls in seconds. Sometimes, the red-outlined predators might escape your grip before you manage to autolock on the button. If that does happen, just grab it again and retry.
All that said, if you’ve upgraded your shark sufficiently, and get a long enough head start, you can jump out of the water and vault right over the gates without even opening them. However, once you figure out how to open the gates, there’s no reason to risk leaving the comfort of the deep. Plus, it’s so much funnier to see a swordfish or alligator slamming into a button three stories above, opening the gates to your vengeance.
