Playing Fortnite when the Epic Games Launcher is down is something that a number of people are worrying about. Considering how popular the game is, when Epic Games is down, a whole lot of people are stuck trying to start Fortnite. Epic Games Down – How to Play Fortnite?

To start Fortnite when the Epic Games launcher is down, your first step is to go into the game’s folder. From there, go into FortniteGame, then binaries, then Win64. You’re looking for the .exe file named FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping.exe; shouldn’t be too difficult to find. Starting up this file should be enough; however, it might not work. If it doesn’t, right-click on the on the file and select Properties. Change the compatibility to Windows Vista or Windows 7. This should allow you to play the game without the Epic Games launcher. Just remember to return everything to normal at some point.

There’s another thing that you can try, although, it won’t help you if Epic Games is already down; this is more of a preparation for the future. When you manage to get the game running, right-click on the icon on the taskbar, then pin it to the taskbar. This should allow you to launch the game faster and more directly, and without having to start the launcher. So, yeah; this is a small, simple step that you can do to make sure that the launcher going bell-up won’t stop you from playing Fortnite.
