The Last of Us Part 2 New Story Trailer Released

Naughty Dog and Sony have released a new story trailer for The Last of Us Part 2. The video mostly focuses on throwing out several bits and pieces of the story; just enough to have you chomping at the bit. That is, if you’ve been able to avoid the spoilers that douchebags have been posting all over the place. On top of that, the trailer layers some brief glimpses of gameplay, too.

Personally, I’ve never been much for recent Naughty Dog games. By that, of course, I mean both the Uncharted and The Last of Us franchises. I gave both a fair shake, and just can’t escape the feeling that they should have been movies instead of games. That said, I can see the appeal behind The Last of Us. That thing forces you to do some pretty unsavory things, and the impact is far greater when you’re the one doing it, even if you’re just controlling a character.

All that is to say, if the newly released story trailer for The Last of Us Part 2 is anything to go buy, I’m gonna have to give this one a spin at some point. I can excuse “meh” gameplay for a good, impactful story, and that seems to be what this game is going to offer. This is the first game I remember in a long while that portrays violence this gruesomely and negatively, so for that reason alone, I’m interested. And yes, I have had it spoiled, and that doesn’t change my mind one iota.

The Last of Us Part 2 is coming out on June 19th, 2020, after suffering yet another delay due to COVID-19. It is, of course, going to be a PlayStation exclusive, as all Naughty Dog games since Crash Bandicoot. Currently, it has only been announced for the PS4, but we all know that Sony will be selling a PS5 remaster as soon as humanly possible. Meanwhile, check out the new trailer for yourself below.
