How to get rid of criminal rating?

The quickest way to get rid of your wanted criminal status is by going to the place where you’re wanted and talk to the guards. Choose to discuss the terms of your surrender. Here you’ll get to pick the payment option – either the required sum of denars, or a pound of flesh, which will set your health points to one.

However, if you’re not in a hurry, or don’t have the cash and wouldn’t like to cut off a piece of your buttock in order to repay your debt to society, you can just wait. Your criminal rating decay over time, which means it’ll disappear entirely on its own, given enough time. We don’t know the exact rate of decay, but it goes down pretty fast.

How to see your wanted criminal rating?

If you have a wanted criminal rating in a town or castle, you can see it at the top of the town screen, where the statistics are. It’ll be listed next to a dagger icon. You can also see the same information in the encyclopedia entry of the place, directly below the name. Lastly, if the guards won’t let you enter a place, hovering over the greyed-out option will reveal whether it’s because of your wanted criminal status.

I just got “caught” accepting goods from an artisan who was not allowed to sell to me by law. When I did not want to hand over the goods to my accuser, my criminal rating for the Western Empire went up 30 points.

I can see it on top left of screen, in the city you are here tablet, were you decide where you want to go next inside the city, or leave.

There is a dagger with the 30 and it says default -1…

It’s to the right of the town name. First the walls status, then the prosperity, followed by Militia, the Dagger, Loyalty, Garrison and lastly Food.
