How to Heal in Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord

Healing in Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord has been causing some confusion among players. This is because healing in Bannerlord works differently than in usually does in RPGs, and it’s even different than in the previous game. Turns out, Bannerlord healing is a long and arduous process, as if the game wasn’t brutal enough already. Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord – How to Heal?

To heal in Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord, you have to go into a settlement, preferably a town, then click on “Wait here for some time.” It’s gonna take a while, but it’s much faster than just standing outside in the wilderness. Yes, you can heal by just standing around wherever you find yourself, but it’s much, much slower. More importantly, the towns are safe, unlike the open wilds. It’s only a last resort, if there are no towns in the vicinity. And no, you can’t set up camp to pass the time like you could before; at least, not at the time of writing.

The game lets you check your healing rate. What you have to do to see it is hover over your health in the bottom right corner of the world map screen. The number depends on some skills you might have (more on skills in our Best Starting Skills in Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord guide). However high or low your healing rate might be, waiting in a settlement adds 10 to that number. So yeah, you really want to find one in order to heal, or you’ll spend many, many in-game days in a field.
