PlayStation 5 New Details Coming on March 18th via PlayStation Blog
According to PlayStation’s Twitter, you should pay close attention to the PlayStation Blog tomorrow, March 18th. At 9 AM Pacific Time, Mark Cerny, is going to “provide a deep dive” into the specifics of the PS5’s system architecture. So, if you wanna know what Sony’s new console is going to have under the hood, then make sure to tune in.
Now that Microsoft has released the technical specs of the Series X, along with some fairly impressive, if brief demonstrations of its power, it only stands to reason that Sony would respond as promptly as possible. Well, according to a tweet from the official PlayStation Twitter account, that’s exactly what’s gonna happen tomorrow. The tweet reads: “Tomorrow at 9am Pacific Time, PS5 lead system architect Mark Cerny will provide a deep dive into PS5’s system architecture, and how it will shape the future of games.”
You’ll be able to follow the announcement and watch the whole thing unfold, where else, but on the PlayStation Blog. No further details have surfaced at the time of writing. The only things we know about the PS5 is the stuff that Cerny has already revealed back in April of last year. Namely, he talked about how the console will support hardware-accelerated ray tracing, resolutions up to 8K, PS4 games through backwards compatibility, and PSVR. And, of course, Sony revealed that the PlayStation 5 will come out some time during this year’s holiday season.
So, there you have it, people. Life goes on, as well as it can. After all, Sony didn’t plan on participating at major events like E3; might as well abandon the idea completely for the time being and just focus on livestreaming, Nintendo Direct-style. When it comes to marketing the PS5, this whole virus thing is not much of a hassle for Sony.
