How to Get Division 2 Chameleon Exotic Assault Rifle?

To get the Chameleon exotic assault rifle in The Division 2, the easiest way is to go ahead and complete bounties at higher difficulty levels to increase your odds. Yes, sadly, the Chameleon is a random drop, so it’s anybody’s guess when one will drop for you. Bounties are a good idea because odds are higher that it’ll drop from a boss, and bounties are a quick and efficient way to farm them.

You can make this a bit easier on yourself by pressing up on the d-pad while you’re on the map screen. This will allow you to browse the targeted loot menu and find out which missions are offering higher drop chances for assault rifles, and then focus on completing those (again, bounties are the best choice). In the end, though, you’re ultimately at the mercy of the universe when it comes to the RNG. Just keep farming; you’ll get it eventually.

How Does Chameleon Exotic Assault Rifle in Division 2 Work?

The Chameleon exotic assault rifle has two Talents, and the main one, Adaptive Instincts, revolves around precision. Hitting 30 headshots gives you a +20 critical hit chance and +50% critical hit damage for 45 seconds. Scoring 60 body shots grants +100% weapon damage, also for 45 seconds. Lastly, for hitting 30 leg shots you get +150% reload speed for, you’ve guessed it, 45 seconds. The second, less important talent is Overlap, which gives you +5% to weapon handling while the rifle is holstered.

Now, how do you know whether or not you have one or more of the bonuses through the Adaptive Instincts talent? Well, if you look closely to the right of the gun muzzle, you’ll see three hexagons. The top one is headshots, the middle is body shots, and the bottom one is leg shots. The more shots to any particular zone, the more the hexagon fills up. When it’s full, the bonus is active. You can also track how long you have left of each bonus in the same way.
