343 Industries Reveal New Details About Halo Infinite in Their Latest Update
Halo Infinite is coming during 2020 holiday season, in line with the Xbox Series X. We knew that. It will be released for the Xbox Series X, Xbox One consoles (both S and X) and the PC. We knew that as well. But what we didn’t know are cool new Halo Infinite features 343 Industries shared in their latest update. We also got two new pieces of concept art.
Halo Infinite to Support Splitscreen, LAN
The first info that got our attention is the fact that Halo Infinite will come with splitscreen mode (we hope that this is true for the PC) and that the game will support LAN. This is great news for those who want to spark nostalgia with Halo LAN parties. Other new specks of info include Forge support, which will also get Undo & Redo buttons. Further, the game will feature generous levels of armor customization. When it comes to the story, Halo Infinite takes place some time after Halo 5: Guardians. It features Master Chief and the story will again revolve around him.
Another interesting bit of news is that the game will include Flighting Programs. The testing phases will include a small number of insiders and will gradually gain new testers. So, if you’re not signed up for the Halo Insider program, now’s a good time. Oh, and Halo Master Chief Collection and Halo 5 both feature double XP until 2020.
343 Industries’ community manager, John Junyszek, also shared some details regarding Halo franchise in 2020. “The last time we really spoke about Halo Infinite was when we debuted the Discover Hope trailer at E3 earlier this year,” said Junyszek, adding that “We know that’s a long time to go without saying much about a Halo game, but please trust me when I say that the Halo hype train that kicked off two weeks ago with Halo: Reach will not be slowing down at all in 2020.”
And he’s right. In their previous update, 343 Industries announced that every Halo sans Halo 5 is coming to the PC in 2020. The year will start with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and continue with Halo 2. That’s two best Halo games kickstarting the next year. And at the end of the year, we’ll get Halo Infinite, probably the biggest game release from Microsoft in 2020. It better be awesome.
