Death Stranding Removed from List of PlayStation 4 Exclusives

Every PlayStation site has a section for PlayStation 4 exclusives. And now, as noted by a ResetEra user, Death Stranding has been removed from that list on several PlayStation websites. Very spicy. Death Stranding Removed from List of PlayStation 4 Exclusives

Something interesting is happening with Death Stranding. Not necessarily good or bad, just interesting. Up until now, the marketing of Death Stranding has been implying that the game is gonna be a PS4 exclusive. At least, that’s how people have been interpreting it. Well, as noted by vestan on ResetEra, it seems like that’s not gonna be the case. The game has been removed from the list of PS4 exclusives on at least several different PlayStation websites, including in Portugal, Australia, France, and Germany. Like I said, interesting.

Of course, this has immediately caused a ton of theories to pup up. Well, not really. Basically, it all boils down to educated guesses that Death Stranding is going to also launch on PC and PlayStation 5. Let’s break that down real quick. The PC thing stems from the fact that the developers originally wanted to put Death Stranding there, too. So, yeah, maybe the game is gonna be a timed PlayStation exclusive. As for the PS5 theory, that one really holds water. After all, the new PlayStation is coming out next year, and it’s gonna need all the titles it can get to really get those early sales flowing. In fact, I’m surprised that Death Stranding isn’t gonna be a PS5 launch title.

Whatever the situation might be, we’ll have to wait and see what happens. As of now, the only thing we know for sure is that Death Stranding will launch on November 8th, 2019, on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. Any potential PC or PlayStation 5 versions are currently TBA at best.
