For Honor Getting New Viking Hero at Start of New Season

Season 3 of Year 3 is coming to For Honor on August 1st. With it, a new hero is coming to the Viking faction. Their name is Hulda or Gretar, depending on whether you select the female or male version, respectively, and they are the leader of The Jormungandr, which we’ll get into in a second. The new hero will be available for all Season pass holders automatically when the season begins. Others will have the chance to purchase Hulda / Gretar for 15,000 in-game Steel starting August 8th. You check out the cinematic trailer for the new hero below.

Now, who are these Jormungandr, you might be wondering. Well, according to the announcement, they are “Viking sectarians devoted to the mythical great serpent after which they’re named.” They wield a War Hamarr (not a typo, it’s Norse) in battle, and their mission is to “cull the weak before the arrival of Ragnarok, as only the strongest may fight in the battle to come.” Interesting choice of weapon, seeing as how Thor slays the Midgard Serpent with his hammer, but maybe they’re being ironic.

Now, of course, the Jormungandr is not the only thing coming to For Honor at the start of the new season. You can also look forward to a new map, the Viking fortress called Storr Stronghold, in the Breach mode rotation. It’ll be available for all players for free. Also, they’ll be balancing the Nobushi, Shinobi, and Orochi, in order to make them more competitive. So, that’s what you can look forward to in For Honor in August.
